Current Research on Educational Equity

The links to on-line articles below are those that have been suggested reading for a community group in Cedar Falls and Waterloo, sponsored by those branches but open to the community. It was organized in response to the single sex classrooms at Walter Cunningham school in Waterloo. Is "separate but equal" good for the education of elementary children? Do such classrooms or schools offer advantages for any or all of the students involved? Do AAUW's policies and studies support or conflict with the growing movement toward separate sex education? Do new discoveries about the brain mean we should change the way we teach our children?
